Officials: 4 dead, 2 deputies injured in shootouts
-- The Associated Press (Published June 7‚ 2008) TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Authorities in Florida say four people have been killed and two deputies have been wounded in the Tampa area. Hillsborough County sheriff's spokesman J.D. Callaway says deputies investigating a report of gunfire at a residence Saturday morning pursued a vehicle that left the scene. The two deputies exchanged shots with the driver of the car and both deputies were wounded. Callaway says a third deputy then killed the gunman. Callaway says a woman and a man were found dead in the residence, and another woman from the house died at a hospital. One wounded deputy was in critical condition. |
